SBI Clerk: identify your drive, review mains and check language requirements
By ExamShortcut · Published 22 Oct 2026 · Checked 2 Nov 2026
The /16 special-drive mains was scheduled for 29 October. Check the matching careers entry for a subsequent result. The regular /17 project is separate, and the earlier /16 call-letter link is not a result announcement.
1. The special-drive date has passed
The /16 special-drive mains was scheduled for 29 October. Check the matching careers entry for a subsequent result. The regular /17 project is separate, and the earlier /16 call-letter link is not a result announcement.
2. Match the advertisement before the date
The special drive discussed in our 29 October update is CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16. The regular recruitment is /17. Their vacancies, candidate pools, links and timing can differ even when both are described as “SBI Clerk 2026”.
Keep the application and relevant notice together. Open the careers entry for the matching advertisement, then use its result or call-letter link. If a download fails, check whether the window and stage apply to you before assuming a technical fault. Never send a password to an unofficial support account.
3. Use mains review to improve selection
Record which reasoning or DI set you chose first and what made it attractive. After the mock, inspect whether the set yielded useful information quickly or trapped you in unnecessary cases. Retry one avoided set with a different representation.
For arithmetic, practise comparing quantities before doing exact calculation when the question permits it. Verify units and totals. Keep English mistakes separate from speed problems. Read the current advertisement and handout for the paper structure and timers; an old mock may not match the current stage. The Clerk pattern page is a starting summary.
4. Revise awareness with retrieval, not only scrolling
Choose a small set of banking, economy and relevant current-affairs items from dated reliable sources. Cover the notes and explain the event, institution and consequence. If a rate or appointment is time-sensitive, recheck it close to the exam rather than preserving an old clipping as current.
Keep a missed-facts list with prompts on one side and answers on the other. Test yesterday's items before adding new ones. This is a suggested recall routine, not an official list of “sure questions”. Combine it with current-affairs study methods if that guide matches your needs.
5. Read local-language and joining conditions early
Check the chosen state/circle's specified language and the accepted evidence or test conditions in your advertisement. Do not assume the prelims or mains result removes a language requirement. Also review identity, qualification and claimed-category documents for consistency.
For exam day, follow your own call letter for reporting, permitted items and original ID. For a later selection, wait for SBI's formal instructions rather than treating a provisional status as a joining order. Keep the regular and special-drive document folders separate if you applied under more than one advertisement.
Try it before opening the answer
Original learning checks, not recalled exam questions or a prediction of your score.
1. A data set totals 500, and one category accounts for 175. What is its share?
35%.
175/500 × 100 = 35. Identify the total before using a percentage shortcut.
2. You applied under advertisement /17. Does a /16 special-drive call letter announce your mains date?
No.
The advertisement must match your own application. A shared recruitment name does not merge the drives.
