RRB ALP and Technician: keep the cycles, grades and practice separate
By ExamShortcut · Published 22 Oct 2026 · Checked 4 Nov 2026
Use the correct ALP or Technician CEN, stage and individual admission record. Current ALP CBT 1 has Ongole/Nellore local exceptions. The separate older ALP CBAT has a revised 12 November date and group-specific document conditions.
1. Older ALP CBAT now has a revised date
For separate CEN 01/2025 CBAT, the 3 November notice sets 12 November, third shift, for four postponed centres and specified technical-problem candidates. The two groups have different vision-certificate requirements. Read the revised-date guide to the notice and your individual communication. Current CEN 01/2026 CBT 1 still follows its own admission information and local exceptions.
2. Important local exceptions
For CEN 01/2026 CBT 1, read the 2 November Ongole/Nellore notice before travel. The separate CEN 01/2025 CBAT postponement concerns four older-cycle aptitude-test centres.
3. Use a three-part label on every saved document
Record recruitment name, CEN number/year and grade or stage. “Technician key” is incomplete without the grade. The official Grade I Signal and Grade III notices use separate candidate links, although they publish the same October viewing window.
Open the Technician key update and select the matching grade. Save the response sheet while the official window permits access. A candidate applying only for ALP should not use a Technician score or cutoff to judge their own recruitment. Keep older ALP stage notices in another folder too.
4. Read the key and challenge process carefully
The published Technician window closes on 22 October 2026 at 23:55; check for any later official extension before acting after that time. The notice sets ₹50 plus applicable bank charges per question. Read the refund conditions for accepted objections in the notice.
List question ID, recorded response, provisional key and your reason before submitting. For a technical question, verify the operating condition, unit and convention; a formula used under the wrong condition is poor evidence. A provisional raw score is neither the normalised result nor a final selection forecast.
5. Make separate revision blocks for your actual recruitment
For ALP, check the current CEN for the sequence of written, trade and aptitude requirements. For Technician, use the grade-specific syllabus. Shared arithmetic or reasoning practice can help both, but it does not replace the technical content or additional tasks named for your post.
Use a concept notebook with units, symbols and one worked example per technical idea. In general maths, practise rates and conversions. In science, explain what a law assumes before inserting numbers. After a mock, review a technical mistake and a general-subject mistake separately so the easier shared topics do not consume the entire session.
6. Check post parameters before preferences
Read qualification, medical standard and vacancy changes for the exact post category. The October Technician vacancy-enhancement notice affects specified categories and boards; it is not a new combined ALP-plus-Technician vacancy total. Retain the corrigendum with the original notice.
Use the ALP/Technician hub for the source links and process page for release steps. Prefer official candidate links reached from the board. Avoid sharing passwords or identity details with unofficial key-download services.
Try it before opening the answer
Original learning checks, not recalled exam questions or a prediction of your score.
1. Convert 72 km/h to metres per second.
20 m/s.
Multiply by 5/18: 72 × 5/18 = 20. The conversion follows from 1 km = 1000 m and 1 hour = 3600 s.
2. Your application says ALP CEN 01/2026. Does a Technician Grade III CEN 02/2026 key determine your score?
No.
Recruitment, CEN and grade/stage must match the saved application. Shared portal coverage does not merge the selection processes.

Common questions
Are ALP and Technician one selection process?
No. They have different CENs, post requirements and stage rules.
Can a response-sheet score certify a final result?
No. Use the board’s final key, normalised result and published shortlist for the matching stage.
