Where the 2026 cycle stands
Two CENs are running in this cycle. ALP (CEN 01/2026): applications closed on 14 June 2026; CBT 1 is scheduled for 3 to 5 November 2026. Technician (CEN 02/2026): applications closed on 29 July 2026; the CBT is scheduled for 6 to 9 October 2026, with city intimation and e-call letters already out. The ALP exam schedule notice and the Technician schedule notice were issued through the official RRB websites in September 2026; your exact date and shift come only with your e-call letter. ALP shortlists for CBT 2 at 15 times the vacancies, so the November paper is the real filter.
Status as last verified on 6 Oct 2026. See the important dates for the full list.

Result and scorecard
Results are published RRB-wise on the official RRB websites as PDF lists of roll numbers with normalised cutoff marks by category.
| Stage | What the result means |
|---|---|
| CBT 1 | Screening only. Shortlists candidates for CBT 2 at 15 times the vacancies. For Technician posts, the single CBT result shortlists candidates for document verification at 1:1 of vacancies. |
| CBT 2 | The Part A result shortlists candidates for the CBAT at 8 times the vacancies. Part B is a qualifying trade test. |
| CBAT | Held in English and Hindi only, with no negative marking and T-scores battery-wise. You need a minimum T-score of 42 in each battery, with no category relaxation. You must carry the Self-Screening Medical Declaration Report (Annexures VIII A and VIII B of the CEN), signed by a general physician and an eye specialist of a central or state government hospital or medical college; without it you are not allowed to appear. From CEN 01/2026 the final merit gives 50% weight to CBT 2 Part A and 50% to the CBAT. |
| Document verification and medical | Original certificates with two sets of self-attested photocopies are checked, and the railway medical examination follows (A-1 for ALP, B-1/A-3/B-2/C-1 for Technician posts). Missing the DV date or failing the medical forfeits the candidature, though a one-time medical appeal with prescribed charges is allowed. |
