It is clearly an estimate. The first stage of IBPS Clerk has no published all-India rank, and your normalised score decides the real result.

How this works. The last shortlisted candidate is placed at rank 1,16,630 out of 6,90,000. Scores are assumed to follow a bell curve, so every other mark gets a percentile and a rank from that one anchor. Rank = candidates appeared × (1 − percentile).

IBPS does not publish how many were shortlisted for mains in advance. The ratio of 10 and the attendance are assumptions. Edit them.

Clerk cut-offs are state-wise and the vacancies are spread across states, so an all-India rank says little about your own state. Pick your state in the reference list.

This is a planning estimate. The official body does not publish all-India ranks, and your normalised score decides the real outcome. For a go or no-go call, use the score calculator and the cutoffs page.

IBPS Clerk rank estimator: FAQs

Does the board publish an all-India rank?

The boards publish result lists and scorecards, but they do not generally publish an all-India rank for the first stage. So any rank shown here is an estimate, not a fact.

How is the rank worked out?

You give the number who appear, the number shortlisted and the score of the last shortlisted candidate. The estimator places that candidate at the shortlist rank, assumes scores follow a bell curve, and reads your percentile off it. Rank is candidates appeared times one minus the percentile.

Which numbers are assumptions?

IBPS does not publish how many were shortlisted for mains in advance. The ratio of 10 and the attendance are assumptions. Edit them. Clerk cut-offs are state-wise and the vacancies are spread across states, so an all-India rank says little about your own state. Pick your state in the reference list.

What should I use this for?

For planning and motivation, for example to see how many marks move your rank by thousands. For a go or no-go call, compare your marks with past cut-offs in the score calculator.
