Important notes on eligibility

Age is counted as on 1 July 2025 for this cycle. Women can apply only for the posts open to female candidates (Constable Civil Police, Mahila Battalion, Jail Warder). Armed Police, Special Security Force and Mounted Police posts are male-only per the advertisement. Candidates with a DOEACC/NIELIT 'O' level computer certificate, at least two years' service in the regular army, or an NCC 'B' certificate get no extra marks, but preference in tie situations. Posts carry police service medical standards, checked at the medical stage. Check the official advertisement for the full eligibility clauses.

How to read these eligibility rules

The cut-off date decides your age. Your age is not measured on the day you apply or the day of the exam. It is measured on one fixed date written in the notification.

Relaxation is added to the upper limit only. A category relaxation raises the maximum age, not the minimum. The calculator adds the number of years for the category you pick and shows the resulting birth-date window per post group.

Your date of birth is taken from your certificate. Age is checked against the date of birth on your Class 10 / matriculation certificate, so use that date rather than the one on any other document.

Education is checked separately. Meeting the age limit does not make you eligible on its own. Check the qualification table above for your post, including any row about final-year students or candidates who are still waiting for a result.

The notification always wins. Where the official notification differs from this page, follow the notification.

Documents that prove age and qualification

Keep these ready for the application and for document verification: Class 10 certificate (date of birth proof), Class 12 (Intermediate) marksheet, caste certificate in the prescribed UP format (Prakoshtha-1 for SC/ST, Prakoshtha-2 for OBC, Prakoshtha-4 for EWS where applicable), certified UP residence/domicile certificate (needed for claiming any reservation), ex-servicemen or freedom-fighter-dependent certificate where applicable, No Objection Certificate for in-service candidates, photo ID (Aadhaar preferred โ€” the process uses Aadhaar-based authentication), a real-time photograph taken during the application, and your scanned signature (black ink on white paper, 50ร—20 mm). The board asks for certificates to be uploaded through DigiLocker, so keep your DigiLocker account active. Name and date of birth must match exactly across all documents โ€” mismatches are the commonest cause of verification trouble.
