The Mains stage is next. The notification (Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17) was released on 11 August 2026 and the application window closed on 31 August 2026. The Preliminary examination was scheduled tentatively for September 2026 (prelims call letters were issued through the SBI careers page; media reports dated September 2026 put the exam on 26 and 27 September). The Main examination is tentatively scheduled for November 2026. SBI announces exact dates only through call letters and its careers page, so confirm your dates there.

Admit card

Where: From the careers page on the SBI website (sbi.co.in/web/careers), using your registration number and date of birth or password; no hard copy is posted.

When: About 10 days before each exam date, along with the 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet.

  2. 2Sign in with your registration number and date of birth or password.
  3. 3Download the prelims call letter and the 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet, and print the call letter clearly.
  4. 4Check your name, photograph, exam date, reporting time and centre address; report any discrepancy to the helpdesk (022-22820427, 11 AM to 5 PM on bank working days) or cgrs.ibps.in at once.
  5. 5Keep the prelims call letter safe: it must be produced again at the Mains exam, authenticated by the centre staff.

What to carry

  • The printed call letter for that stage
  • An original photo ID with a self-attested photocopy
  • Two additional recent photographs identical to the one on the call letter
  • Nothing else: phones, calculators and smartwatches are not allowed inside

Biometric verification (thumb impression or IRIS) may be done at the venue. At the Mains you must carry the mains call letter along with the authenticated prelims call letter and photo ID, and submit them; entry is refused without them.

Answer key

SBI does not publish the question paper or an answer key for the Clerk exam, and there is no objection window. Unofficial keys from coaching sites give only a rough estimate, since scores are normalised across shifts.

  2. Individual marks are made available through the official marks lookup page on the careers site; open it when SBI activates it and enter your roll number and date of birth or password to download your score.
  3. There is no provision for rechecking or re-evaluation of answers or scores.

Mains190 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours 40 minutes, with sectional timing. The result lists roll numbers of provisionally selected candidates state-wise and category-wise.
Local Language Proficiency TestProvisionally selected candidates who did not study the opted local language in Class 10 or 12 take a qualifying LLPT at a centre in the State applied for, at their own expense (5% relaxation for reserved categories); those who fail are not appointed.
Provisional selectionFinal selection is subject to verification of eligibility. A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies is maintained for one year from the final result and released quarterly against non-joining and resignations. There is no interview.

Scorecard: SBI publishes no cutoff or merit list for the Clerk exam. Marks from each phase are available only to individual candidates through the official marks lookup page on the careers site, and are kept there for a limited period, so download and save yours.
