RRB Group D: CBT review, PET readiness and the CCAA distinction

By ExamShortcut · Published 22 Oct 2026 · Checked 2 Nov 2026

The current CEN 09/2025 coverage includes an ended September answer-key window and a restricted CCAA modification notice for October. Neither is a general new-application opening or a final result. Match the notice to your own candidate category before acting.

1. The restricted modification period is over

The published CCAA modification window ended on 28 October at 23:59. Keep the final submitted NCVT details and acknowledgement. Read later RRB notices for any further instruction; the ended window does not itself announce PET dates or a CBT result.

2. Separate the three candidate actions

A response-sheet window lets you view recorded answers and, within the stated rules, submit objections. A result notice establishes the published next-stage status. A modification notice lets specified candidates change only the permitted information. These are three different events.

The September key notice is archived as ended. The October CCAA notice concerns eligible Course Completed Act Apprentices and NCVT marks. Do not interpret its dates as reopening recruitment to everyone. Read the eligibility conditions in the official PDF before using the modification link.

3. Audit a CBT practice score

Use the marking rule for the matching paper and keep unattempted questions separate. With +1 and a one-third penalty, 70 correct and 15 wrong gives 70 − 15/3 = 65 raw marks. Write one-third as a fraction during calculation to avoid rounding each wrong answer too early.

A raw-score exercise does not calculate the normalised result or predict PET selection. For review, label mistakes in maths, reasoning, science and awareness. Choose one science concept and one arithmetic process to repair this week. The science notes and time-work lesson can support that revision if they match your gaps.

4. Read PET rules before planning the next stage

Check the physical tasks and standards in the relevant CEN and later call letter, including applicable exemptions or special provisions. Do not transplant a GD or CPO test chart into Group D preparation. The task, load, distance and conditions can differ.

Prepare within your experience and seek qualified advice about safe activity if needed; this page does not prescribe a training plan. Your official venue, date and reporting instructions come from the individual call letter. A predicted cutoff or a strong mock score is not confirmation that you have been shortlisted.

5. Prepare evidence for every claim

Put education, identity and claimed-category documents in a labelled folder, with originals and required copies identifiable. For an apprentice-related claim, check the specific certificate, marks and qualification cut-off conditions, not just the word “apprentice” in a headline.

If the CCAA window applies to you, save the final submitted details and acknowledgement. If it does not, continue monitoring the ordinary result and next-stage notices through the Group D process page. Never pay an intermediary to “activate” a result or guarantee a physical-stage call letter.

Try it before opening the answer

Original learning checks, not recalled exam questions or a prediction of your score.

1. With +1 and −1/3, what is the score for 64 correct and 18 wrong?

58 raw marks.

64 − 18/3 = 64 − 6. Do not subtract 0.33 separately eighteen times and introduce avoidable rounding.

2. A CCAA modification notice is published. Can every new applicant use it?

No.

The notice is restricted to candidates who meet its stated conditions. A modification window is not a general application window.

Common questions

Does the CCAA window announce the Group D result?

No. It is a specific modification opportunity, not a result declaration.

Can an old key portal accept a late objection?

Only an official extension can change the deadline. Do not assume an old link remains usable.
