IBPS Clerk CSA: mains practice and local-language readiness
By ExamShortcut · Published 22 Oct 2026 · Checked 25 Oct 2026
IBPS’s official tentative calendar lists CSA-XVI mains on 27 December 2026. The prelims dates are already past, but no new prelims-result release was verified in this review. Prepare for the next stage while keeping a tentative schedule separate from a result or call-letter announcement.
The official State/UT and bank-preference period was 16–23 October and is now closed. Keep your saved preferences record and check IBPS for any later instruction; that portal is not a prelims-result release.
1. Use the current CSA structure
Check the CSA-XVI notification before reusing an old mains mock: section structure, timing and weighted marks can change between cycles. Keep a line for each section's attempts, accuracy and time pressure rather than comparing only the final total.
Make one diagnostic from a timed block. If you are choosing the wrong data set, practise selection; if your setup is wrong, repair the concept; if you simply calculate slowly, isolate the arithmetic. The Clerk pattern page summarises the cycle, while the notification controls the actual rules.
2. Practise DI with a source-of-number check
For every calculation, point to the row, column and unit supplying the input. Distinguish total, average, percentage share and percentage change. Before using a shortcut, estimate whether the result should be above or below half the total.
Review data interpretation and percentages. Use a simple example: 120 out of 300 is a 40% share. If the value later becomes 150, the increase is 25% of 120, not 10% of 300. Write which question you are answering before doing either calculation.
3. Use constraints in reasoning and context in English
In a puzzle, write fixed information first and mark assumptions as cases. Do not quietly turn “not next to” into “opposite”. When a branch leads to contradiction, record which condition caused it; this can expose a misread statement rather than a hard puzzle.
For English, choose an answer the sentence or passage supports. Keep a vocabulary record with context, not just translations. Review a short passage with the evidence method. Alternate focused repair with mixed sets so you practise recognising the question type under time pressure.
4. Keep local-language and document conditions visible
Read the state/UT and local-language provisions in the current CSA notice, including what educational evidence is accepted and when a test may apply. Do not assume a good written score waives a language requirement.
Check your application state/UT and claimed-language evidence before later-stage instructions arrive. Review banking awareness from dated reliable sources, then explain each item in two sentences. The CSA dates page uses 27 December as tentative; an actual mains call letter and any revised notice remain authoritative.
Try it before opening the answer
Original learning checks, not recalled exam questions or a prediction of your score.
1. 120 of 300 transactions use a channel. What is the share?
40%.
120/300 × 100 = 40. The base is all 300 transactions.
2. That channel grows from 120 to 150 transactions. What is its percentage increase?
25%.
The increase is 30 and the original base is 120: 30/120 × 100 = 25. This is different from the channel’s share of all transactions.

Common questions
Does the tentative mains date establish prelims qualification?
No. Qualification comes from the matching official prelims result.
Does a written score remove the local-language requirement?
Follow the current notice and accepted evidence or test provisions. Do not assume it is waived.
