SBI PO Phase 3: interview stories, group exercises and document checks
By ExamShortcut · Published 22 Oct 2026 · Checked 2 Nov 2026
SBI has published the PO 2026-27 mains shortlist and a Phase 3 notice. The notice gives 31 October for the psychometric test and group exercises/interviews from 18 November, tentatively. Your exact schedule and instructions come from SBI and the individual call letter.
1. After the psychometric date
The notice’s tentative psychometric date of 31 October is past, and the official linked download page now says downloads are over. GE/interviews remain tentatively from 18 November. Use the actual date/time in your individual invitation and continue practising concise, factual answers.
2. Confirm the shortlist before planning the appointment
Search your roll number in the official mains result PDF for advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09. Read the heading and keep a copy of the matching entry. A mains shortlist is not the final selection list, and a forwarded cropped PDF can omit the recruitment identifier.
Use the SBI PO result update for the result and Phase 3 notice links. The published dates are tentative; do not substitute a general starting date for your own appointment. Check the official careers page and call-letter instructions for the exact venue and reporting requirements.
3. Prepare examples rather than a memorised persona
Write three short examples from study, work or everyday responsibility: a difficult decision, a disagreement and a mistake you corrected. For each, identify your action and the evidence of the outcome. Be clear about what the group did versus what you personally did.
Practise a concise introduction and a reason for banking that relates to the work. Avoid claiming expertise you cannot explain. When asked about a weakness, give a real, bounded example and the action you are taking. The goal is a coherent conversation, not a script that fails when a follow-up changes the order.
4. Make group practice collaborative
Use a small group to discuss a neutral issue. First define the question, then make one supported point, acknowledge a useful contribution and identify a trade-off. Summarise common ground without pretending everyone agreed.
Review your behaviour: did you interrupt, repeat a point, ignore a fact or help clarify the decision? Speaking the longest is not the same as contributing most. If you use a statistic, verify its source and date. A calm qualification such as “this depends on the affected customer group” can be stronger than an absolute claim you cannot support.
5. Read psychometric and document instructions directly
Follow the official psychometric instructions and answer honestly. This guide does not offer a “correct personality” to imitate or claim that a coaching trick can determine an outcome. Check equipment or venue requirements only from the actual SBI instructions.
Audit degree, identity, category and other claimed documents against the current advertisement and call letter. Keep relevant originals ready and resolve discrepancies through authorised channels. Recheck tentative dates before travel. Do not share private identity documents with someone promising interview marks, a guaranteed shortlist or a hidden answer set.
Try it before opening the answer
Original learning checks, not recalled exam questions or a prediction of your score.
1. In a group exercise, you disagree with a proposed solution. What is a useful response?
State the shared goal, explain one concern and offer an alternative.
This makes the trade-off discussable. Interrupting or attacking the speaker does not improve the decision.
2. Does “interviews from 18 November” establish your personal interview date?
No.
A starting date covers the schedule range. The individual call letter and subsequent official instructions establish your appointment.
